In ihrem 1983 erschienenen Artikel The Missing Negatives kommt Lucia Moholy zu dem Schluss, dass etwa 580 ihrer Negative „in unbefugte Hände geraten waren“. Von dem Moment an, als sie feststellte, dass ihre Glasnegative nicht, wie sie angenommen hatte, im Krieg zerstört worden waren, bis zu ihrem Tod im Jahr 1989 arbeitete Moholy daran, ihren Namen wieder mit ihren Fotografien in Verbindung zu bringen. In her 1983 article The Missing Negatives, Lucia Moholy concludes that some 580 negatives “had fallen into unauthorized hands”. From the moment she realized that her glass negatives had not been destroyed in the war, as she had assumed, until her death in 1989, Moholy worked to reconnect her name with her photographs. This book bears witness to that fight.
